Capitola Mall – Capitola, CA
Overview
Merlone Geier is considering a redevelopment of the Capitola Mall. We are currently engaging with community members and leaders to discuss the project and gather feedback on our plans. Located less than one mile from the ocean in a municipality that has been likened to villages on the Mediterranean Coast, Capitola Mall is also easily accessible to both local and out of town visitors. More than 4 million tourists are drawn to the county each year, lured by its miles of beaches (voted among the best on the California coast by Sunset Magazine), breathtaking views of Monterey Bay and a variety of popular festivals, making Capitola a world-class destination and locale in which to reside. The Capitola Mall is also the only enclosed shopping center in the county with the nearest competing center 30 miles away.

Overview
Merlone Geier is considering a redevelopment of Lynnwood Square, a 17 acre center currently occupied by Grocery Outlet, Best Buy and McDonald’s. The site is directly adjacent to a new light rail station (2024 projected completion) that will bring more than 20,000 daily riders. Our proposed multi-phased development could include a mix of Class A office, multifamily, retail and medical office in varying levels of density subject to market demand.

Overview
From its commanding location along Highway 101 in San Rafael, the Northgate Mall has been a part of the local landscape for 42 years. Situated 20 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Northgate features a lineup anchored by Macy’s, Kohl’s, a 15-screen Century Theatres multiplex, and includes a variety of specialty stores, services and restaurants and a popular food court. Northgate is the only enclosed regional mall and the largest family-oriented shopping destination in Marin County. Merlone Geier is considering a redevelopment of the Northgate Mall. We are currently engaging with community members and leaders to discuss the project and gather feedback on our plans.

The first phase will include an adaptive re-use of the former 160,000 square foot Sears box followed by a multi-phased repositioning and densification plan.
